Pastors and Church Leaders Receive Commentaries in Burkina Faso
by Ian Fleck
A team of thirteen people from a group of churches in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland went to Burkina Faso from the 3rd – 20th July 2009 and participated in a Langham Literature distribution event. The team was involved in helping to build a church building for the Eglise Protestante Evangélique in Ouagadougou, the capital. They were also involved in children’s meetings in Ouagadougou and in Legmoin in the south as well as painting hostel accommodations for a school in Legmoin.
Two members of the team were the speakers at a three-day conference for the pastors and church leaders of the ‘Eglise Protestante Evangélique’ (EPE). At the final session, Ian Fleck presented those who attended with Commentaire Biblique Contemporain (CBC), the French edition of the popular Africa Bible Commentary. They were delighted with the presentation and expressed profound thanks to Langham Partnership International (LPI) for the gift.
The President of the EPE, Pastor Daniel Narcisse Kambou, said that as most of the church pastors have very few books and commentaries; the commentary would be of a tremendous help for personal Bible study and for sermon preparation. He asked that the appreciation of everyone would be forwarded to LPI who were so generous in giving to people they had never met but be assured of the value to the EPE in Burkina Faso.
